My 13 year old son has been asking to get his ears pierced for a couple months now.. I've been telling him he can get them when he's 15. My son has long hair that covers his ears, and he's at an age where it's weird for me to kiss or hug him.. I notice today that he has his ears pierced. My husband took him to have them done last week without thinking to let me know.. They thought it would be hilarious to see how long it would take for me to figure out he had them done. I had to find this out myself, neither of them thought it big enough a deal to tell me. I'm beyond pissed off. It's not about the piercing themselves, it's the dishonesty and general assholery of such a move. I told them I was hurt and pissed off about them not telling me, my husband says I'm making too big a deal about it and it's funny.. haha. Then he gets pissy and makes it about me and what I'm doing wrong... classic gaslighting. Everything gets turned around to my fault.. I haven't heard an apology in 15 years of marriage.
